The Hulk versus the Werewolf-By-Night!In the Nevada desert, the Werewolf kills and devours a coyote, then turns his attention to another sound, that of the Hulk's dual personalities arguing with each other. Joe wants to settle things with Marlo Chandler, who has broken off their relationship, while Bruce Banner wants to let her be. The Werewolf leaps upon the Hulk and they fight viciously, until the sun rises and they each revert to human form, leaving the scene in opposite directions. Jack Russell (the Werewolf) comes upon an abandoned atomic testing lab in which he decides to chain himself up that night. Meanwhile, George, an old Navajo, finds the remains of his pet coyote.Later, Bruce works incognito as a janitor in a radiation testing lab. Without warning, he doubles over in pain, feeling a compulsion to phone Marlo. He does so and the pain vanishes. He lets slip the location of the lab, and Marlo hangs up to head out to meet him, while he ponders the the Hulk's ability to mentally force him to act against his will.Hours later, Marlo sits in the car she borrowed, having crashed it while avoiding a rabbit. She is found by George, who tows her vehicle to his service station. She phones Bruce, who has been waiting at the lab all this time, but he begs off their meeting as his nightly transformation nears. Driving home, he becomes the Hulk, while the Werewolf breaks free from the deserted lab. The lycanthrope reaches the service station where he injures George, then chases Marlo as she drives away in George's pick-up.The Hulk sees the truck with the Werewolf reaching into the cab for Marlo, and considers letting the beast kill her, but instead, he intervenes. After a short struggle, the Hulk breaks the tow chain from the pick-up, wraps it around the Werewolf, then hurls him miles away.Alone together, Marlo tells Joe she wants to make up, but, too heartbroken, he refuses and tells her good-bye.
